可以这样回答：
1、There are only 3 of us-my parents and I.
一共3个，我父母和我。
2、Three.
三口人。
3、My family has six people.
我家有六口人。
How many people are there in your family?这是个特殊疑问句，问的是你们家有多少口人，根据实际情况如实回答。
how many的用法
对数量进行提问，many后面跟可数名词复数。
How many pandas are there?那里有多少只熊猫？
How many lions can you see?你能看到多少只狮子？
对therebe句型中主语的数量如：some，five，onlyone等提问时，如果主语是可数名词，不管主语是单数还是复数一般都用复数形式提问。
因为问话人不知道具体的数量是多少，而且many只能接可数名词复数形式，所以be一定要用are。即用Howmany+可数名词复数＋are there+地点／时间状语的句型结构。例如：
There are seven days in a week. (对划线部分进行提问）How many days are there in a week?翻译：一周有多少天？
There be 句型本身就是“某地有某物”的意思，
加上语态，语意也不会发生改变，致使需要和语态结合着翻译、使用。
·There is sth. doing
（某地）有某物/某人 正在做什么.
例如：There is a boy running on the playground .
有个男孩正在操场上跑步。
·There is sth. to do
（某地）有某事/某物 去做
例如：There is nothing to eat.
什么吃得都没有。
·There is sth. to be done
（某地）有某物/某事 （需要去,还没做）被做<同上一句不同的只是一个主动一个被动〉
例如：There is rubbish should be throw away.
这儿有些垃圾需要扔掉。
·There is sth. have done（应该有have吧..?我没见过直接加done的，只是完成时有there be 后边加sth. have done 的。 ）
（某地）有某物/某事 已经被做
例如：There are some new books of him have published.
他写的一些书已经出版。
